Spencer Pratt Thinks He Can Rap

Ego - Beyonce

Who told Spencer Pratt, in the hit MTV reality series The Hills, he can rap?! Are You foreal! I'm not diggin iT!

XXLMag.com: What’s your rap name Spencer?

Spencer Pratt: S. Prat, I mean I got a few. Everyone’s got so many names these days, I’m rocking S dot Pratt, Great White, S. Pratt, back in high school they called me Pratt Daddy even before Diddy was rocking Diddy.

XXL: So your rap name is the Great White, that’s pretty amazing.

SP: Thank You, thank you. I mean to be honest it came up because I manage a professional fighter that just signed a five-fight deal to Strike Force on CBS and his name is Kevin Cale Casey. He’s from Inglewood, CA and he’s always like, “Spencer you a baby great white out here, you a baby great white, they just don’t even know, you gonna grow up and eat people” and I was like damn that name right there is gonna make me wanna rap.

XXL: So Great White can you spit a verse? Can you spit a verse for the readers right here?

SP: I mean my verses are real simple, I get money. I get paid all day, you know I’m on TV and I love life, you know, I got my fly wife and I kick back and get money. It’s not about rhyming lyrical this, it’s just about swag and that’s all I’ma be doing on tracks, just talking about really how paid I’m getting cause it’s ridiculousness.

XXL: So who are your rap influences?

SP: Right now to be honest Asher Roth. Once I heard him on Kiss FM when I was hearing him on Ryan Seacrest, I was like, “Oh my God, if this guy is on the radio I need to start rapping.” I’m about to be so platinum. This is a joke, God bless his heart. I went to high school with literally like I said 30 Asher Roths in Santa Monica and you know it’s hilarious that that’s what rap’s come to. I feel bad for the game. I’ve been the biggest hip-hop fan. I never thought I would have to go in and save the game, be the white hope in the game, but it’s happening. My calling is here.

XXL: So you’re not a fan of Asher Roth I take it?

SP: No, no, I mean I’m a fan of people that get money. And he’s obviously getting a couple songs. I think he broke top 10 iTunes so that’s a couple checks so I’ll respect anybody getting a check.

XXL: What you think about Eminem’s new album?

SP: I mean to be honest, I was the biggest Eminem fan, like huge Emimen fan but I was disappointed. I think when you lose the grind and hustle that I have right now at like 25, just get my fame shining as bright as he was when writing his best stuff you just have a whole different energy. And then when you got $300 million or whatever in the bank and you just chilling and you just wanna go and make a statement and you just go put out a track or two with Dre it’s just a different sound, so obviously he’s a lyrical genius-I’m not about to be trying to battle one of the founders of white hip-hop for me - but I’m not too amped on him. I’m feeling Nick Cannon over Eminem right now.

XXL: How you feeling Nick Cannon over Eminem right now?

SP: I just like that little rant on his blog. I just feel him as a husband now. If Eminem tried to get sideways on me with Heidi then I would definitely, you know, be having issues with him too.

XXL: Well you know he might read this interview and he might take a shot.

SP: I dare, I dare him, I dare him. He doesn’t even want a problem.

XXL: What are you going to rap about the mean streets of Hollywood?

SP: I mean- you know what- I’m rapping about—you know what honestly inspired me to rap when I read that Jay-Z said that rapping about being gangster is irrelevant. When I heard that I was like “hey what are you doing?” His last album was American Gangster. Like, this whole world is so gangster right now. How are you saying that man? You just make $500 million off of being a gangster. I mean I not saying I’m the new white gangster rapper but I’m just saying I’m ruthless, I’m disobedient. I don’t have rules. Everyone hates me. I’m more hated than Eminem was in his prime so why wouldn’t I get on the Steve Morales smash, trash Puerto Rican, you know straight from the hood pop bottles, you know?

XXL: So you signed right now? You looking for a deal?

SP: Yeah, I’m actually signed to the hottest label in the whole—it’s the future of music. They’re the only ones with the right distribution model, they actually know how to make money.

XXL: What’s the name of the label?

SP: They actually know what profit is—it’s called Great White Records and I’m the CEO and right now sole artist under the label. I’m handling A&R, PR. I’m the stylist for the label.

XXL: Who you trying to get to work on the album with you?

SP: Now that I decided I’m doing an album. I mean I didn’t really know I had to go in to rap until really recently and then I was just like “Wow! He put out a whole album? Did Asher Roth really put out an album? Oh my God this is crazy!” Universal is releasing this guy? He has Akon in his music video. Was that just Jay-Z sitting next to him, oh my God. Get out the pen and paper Spencer, write something down. What are you doing?

XXL: So you have any songs? Did you record any songs yet?

SP: No, no that was just the first day I ever went in a studio. First, we did it in like three hours. He just made the beginning of the track. I didn’t even hear it at that level I left and all of a sudden he emails me just bananas track. No offense to 50, I got a 50 Cent track right now [that] sounds like I spent 250 G’s.

XXL: Who’s producing? Steve who?

SP: Steve Morales. He did “Pop Bottles” for Lil Wayne and Birdman. And that’s another thing what is gangster rap right now? Now that I’m in hip-hop, I read your magazine, I’m always like, what’s up with Lil Wayne kissing Birdman, what’s up with people be cops secretly? How is a cop also—are they just crooked cops? Is that it? I don’t get that. I also don’t understand—there’s just so many things in hip-hop that are just like—Spencer Pratt can go in hip-hop. Like the rules changed there’s no more Tupac and Biggie, you feel me?

XXL: So did you grow up with hip-hop? Or you just kind of like a newcomer?

SP: All I listened to was just Wu-Tang really just in high school. Just angry Wu-Tang, going to soccer games fired up ready to wild out on people. - Jesse Gissen

the music industry cuz honestly there is no talent or potential in him, PERIOD.

Read this article from XXL and tell me what y'll think:

Spencer Pratt, star of the hit MTV reality series The Hills, recently announced his hip-hop aspirations. XXLMag.com had a chance to chop it up with the outspoken Los Angeles native and he had a lot of opinions to share about the state of hip-hop, Eminem and his biggest inspiration, suburban sensation Asher Roth. Pratt is not one to hold his tongue as he throws shots at the aforementioned rappers as well as hip-hop icon Jay-Z. Is this cat for real?

New Music and Kicks Of The Day

Well Yll heard that Amerie is coming out with her album pretty soon and here is another song that got "leaked"...Tell Me U Love Me - Amerie

Tell Me U Love Me - Amerie

I'm a Drizzy Drake Fan and was wondering why no Major Label signed him yet??? Is it cuz he's more successful in Mainstream?or because he's Canadian?I like his music material and character- From actor turned rapper/singer/songwriter

This article is written by Infamous O via XXL.COM

The Mountie MC is as clever as they come in the game today. Saying ish like, “I dare one of these niggas to say I’m not insane/pick a road cause where you driving it’s not a lane/and rest in peace to Pimp C, life is not a game/takin’ over the world, no pinky just a lot of braaaiin” on “Overdose On Life.” He even held his own on the Lil Wayne featured “I Want Dis 4 Eva” where he simply stated, “I don’t think you’ll ever find a nigga like me/never L-I-E/I got everything I tell ‘em I got/young nigga showboat like I’m selling a Yacht!” Cooler than the other side of the pillow ish right there is what that is.

But the downside to his cleverness is when he tries to go the pop route with his music and makes—in my opinion—trash music like “Every Girl,” “Get It Like Me” and “She Just Wanna Dance,” But I’m sure birds like Paris Hilton (the target audience for joints like this) will say the aforementioned tracks are “hot” and go on to dance like “niggers” to it. Sidenote: why wasn’t Paris Hilton ever beaten up for making that “we’re dancing like two niggers” remark? Maybe she should’ve dated Chris Brown to see what was really good. But then again had Chris beaten her up, he would’ve gotten the chair by now…

When Drake is straight rhyming or freestyling like he did on ”Closer To My Dreams,” “Still Drake” or his “Presidents” Freestyle where he rhymed over Jigga’s “Dead Presidents” beat, son is no joke like Kramer at the Laugh Factory (yet another person who made racial remarks and went unscathed). His style is versatile enough for him to make a complete hip-hop album filled with songs that have substance over a variety of rhythmic sounds. He’s that good, but he has a tendency to experiment a little too much with his sound and that’s where he loses me. “Girl Let Me” is a prime example of when he feels a little too Kanye-ish with his. It seems like everyone nowadays wants to be an “artist” and not an straight MC.

Have a good and safe weekend, y’all. Stay up and stay strapped both ways. Uno- The Infamous O

Kicks Of The Day, Dash stores was vandalized

I'm diggin' this COLOR:
Fresh Kicks:

Well yll probably already hear about this but I swear sometimes people do some random stupid things to get attention: Another one of the Kardashian sisters' Dash stores was vandalized Tuesday night.

This was posted by Khloe Kardashian on her BLOG

"Ok dolls, I have some pretty ridiculous news -- our LA Dash was vandalized! The one yesterday seemed obviously gang-related and had nothing to do with us...today the one in Calabasas was most likely intentional since people know it is our store."

"This morning when my mom went to open the store, she found that it had been graffitied with more or less the same stuff that the Miami store had. Luckily we have security cameras so we will investigate and hopefully find the people who did this...the police are at the store as we speak."

I love Maino and I think he is the realiest Rapper out in NY.
